Tungsten electrode

Hello reader friends.

Before I start talking about tungsten electrodes I would like to let you know first of all, for those who don't know what an electrode is. In welding, the electrode is a metal rod that is frequently covered with a combination of different materials that vary according to the use of the electrode. Some of the functions of welding electrodes is that of an electric arc generator at its end when used as a circuit pole or that of flux material.

What is a tungsten electrode?

Tungsten electrodes are used when Tungsten (TIG) welding or when performing plasma welding. In both processes the electrode, the arc and the welding pool are protected from atmospheric contamination by an inert gas. The tungsten electrode is used because it can withstand high temperatures with minimal melting or erosion. Tungsten Electrode They are made by powder metallurgy and are formed for After Sintering.

The points to keep in mind when selecting a tungsten electrode:

• Tungsten electrode type
• Electrode diameter
• Polishing quality and roughness of the electrode
• Type of electrode geometry

If you are a blacksmith and practice this type of welding in your work, I recommend you take a look at the tungstengrinder website, have a wide variety of equipment and grinding machinery for this type of electrodes.
